About Us    

The Westcastle Ski Club is based out of Castle Mountain Resort, located two and a half hours south-west of Calgary in the Rocky Mountains. Castle Mountain has the second longest lift-serviced skiing vertical in Alberta and is widely recognized as providing a high-quality skiing experience for serious skiers and their families. From a combination of advanced terrain, awesome snow conditions, uncrowded slopes and dedicated skiing families, the Westcastle Ski Club has developed and strengthened over the past two decades. Currently our ski racing program consists of more than 40 Nancy Greene (entry), 20 Kinder, and approximately 5 Junior/FIS level athletes.

We offer the following programs:

  • Nancy Greene: Ski development program for athletes aged 5 to 13
  • Banditos: HIgher level of develpment than NG & all mountain skiing for athletes aged 9-13
  • Freeride: All-mountain ski program for athletes aged 11 to 18
  • Competitive race program for athletes aged 11 to 19

With a focus on fun, good sportsmanship, team spirit, and healthy competition, we strive to provide a safe, positive environment where young athletes can develop a passion for skiing and will embrace it as a life-long recreational activity.

The Westcastle Ski Club has a good line of coaches for the upcoming season.  However, we are always looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic coaches who share our passion for skiing and for developing strong young skier-athletes who will embrace skiing as a life-long recreational activity.

Suggested minimum qualifications for these positions include the following:

K1 Coaches
- Level 2 CSIA
- Level 2 CSCF preferred
- Ski racing experience required
- Will consider Level 1 CSCF and Level 2 CSIA with extensive ski racing experience

K2 Coaches
- Level 2 CSCF
- Level 2 CSIA
- Ski racing experience required

Junior/FIS Coaches
- Level 2 CSCF
- Level 2 CSIA
- Ski racing experience required
- Previous experience with coaching at this level preferred

We offer an attractive compensation package including Castle Mountain Resort employment packages.  On-slope accommodations negotiable for highly qualified candidates.

A class 4 driver’s license (and driver’s abstract) and criminal record check may be required.
