What time and where do we meet?
- Regular Nancy Greene, snowboard and freeride
programs start the first Saturday in January. Please meet at 9:15 at
the day lodge. The coordinators and coaches will be meeting and
organizing the children into groups. There is often some shuffling
between groups the first couple sessions as the coaches evaluate skill
levels and place the children in the most appropriate group.
- Other days: Be ready to go by 9:15. The coaches will leave the base area at 9:30 am sharp.
- Please ensure your children have been to the washroom before they put their skis or snowboards on.
How can we meet the coaches and executive?
Come to the first club social of
the season on the first day of the regular Nancy Greene and Development
programs. We’ll meet the first Saturday of January every season
after skiing downstairs in the CMR day lodge. This is a great start to
the season!
What equipment do we need?
- A helmet that fits properly: All club members must wear helmets while participating in the program.
- Good goggles, just in case it snows!
- Clothing appropriate to the weather at Castle… don’t forget the wind!
- Ski and snowboard rentals will be available at the hill through Alpenland.
What if we’re late?
Wait at the base area. The coaches will swing by after their first run to pick up stragglers.
What if it’s cold?
When the temperature dips below
–20, sometimes the programs will be cancelled. The decision is
often tough to make because it depends a lot on the weather (clear or
blizzard, calm or windy . . .). To find out, call the club phone at
627-2866 early Saturday or Sunday morning. We’ll have a message
ready.
What if a child gets separated from their group?
The coaches work very hard to keep
the group together, but occasionally they get separated. Please tell
your children that if this happens, they should wait by the bottom of
the lift, whichever one they were riding. The coaches will also explain
this to the children.
What if we can’t come on a certain day?
Please call the club phone at 627-2866 and leave a message.
What if I have questions or concerns?
This depends on the situation, but
often the program coordinators will be able to answer your questions.
Feel free at any time to contact the club executive or head coach.
